PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Item No. 1
MAY 19, 1988
3 . SITE APPROVAL APPLICATION NO. SA-88-31 OF J.R. SIMPLOT COMPANY
(C/O WILLIAM DUNCAN) for an appeal of Conditions of Approval of
SA-88-31 for (1 ) garbage disposal company, office trailer, and garbage
truck parking, and (2 ) storage yard for farm trailer rental business.
The property is located on the west side of McKinley Avenue, 861 feet
south of Louise Avenue, Lathrop. (District 1 )
Harry Islas, Associate Planner, introduced a staff report into the
record.
PUBLIC HEARING OPENED
PROPONENTS: Michael Normoyle, 1625 I Street, Modesto, was present for
Bonzi and Company, (Philco Disposal Company) . He said that his
client' s company is one of six franchizes hauling waste in San Joaquin
County. He requested a one month continuance in order to find out the
results of the Board consideration of contract bids. He said that if
his company's bid is approved by the Board of Supervisors, the expense
to meet the recommended conditions of approval would be justified.
He, therefore, requested the continuance to await the outcome of the
Board hearing which is scheduled for June 14th. Mr. Normoyle said
that he believed the property owner would be in concurrence with his
request. He said his client is interested in the front 300 feet of
the property It was noted that his client is currently using the
property without the required permit.
Bill Duncan was present and also requested a continuance until the
Philco Company decides what they want to do.
OPPONENTS: None
MOTION: Moved, seconded (Bozzano-Carter ) and carried by a vote of 6-1
to continue this item, with the hearing opened, to July 7, 1988.
Comm. Gillispie voted no.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
