Garrett Backus [EH]
From: Woodburne, Keith (Concord,CA-US) [kwoodburne@tresolutions.com]
Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2011 10:19 AM
To: Garrett Backus [EH]
Subject: Lab results from confirmation soil samples -CCT Lodi Ave spill response
Attachments: J34462-1 UDS Level 2 Report Final Report.pdf
Hello Garrett,
Please see the attached lab report for the confirmation soil samples collected from the bottom of the
excavation at the Lodi Ave spill response on Monday. Three confirmation soil samples (CS-1, CS-2
and CS-3) were collected along the base of the excavation and analyzed for diesel range organics.
The composite sample results are from the stockpile and I will be sending them to the waste hauler to
generate the profile for disposal.
The lab report shows that two of those samples were very low to non-detect (CS-2 and CS-3).
However, sample CS-1 contained diesel at a concentration of 20,000 mg/kg. It would appear we
excavated deep enough over most of the excavation but still needed to go a little deeper on the western
end of the excavation. CCT will have the bobcat and/or excavator onsite to load the stockpile into roll
off bins, probably tomorrow. My plan would be to have them do some additional digging on the west
end of the excavation where sample CS-1 was collected. I will take another confirmation sample at that
location after we've done some additional excavation.
I'll let you know when that work will be done, but we're hoping to be there tomorrow morning. This of
course depends on the schedule for the waste hauler.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Keith
Keith L.
