1. The concrete slab's curbing will be sealed to prevent spillage <br /> of soil or water. <br /> 2. *Soil Samples will be taken for laboratory analysis. (Petroleum <br /> Hydrocarbon content. ) <br /> 3. Soil will be fertilized to bring Nitrate and phosphorus level <br /> to at least 20 ppm and 5 ppm. Soil will be thoroughly mixed. <br /> 4. Soil will be thoroughly wetted to bring the field moisture level <br /> in the soil to 30 - 70 percent. <br /> *All laboratory analysis will be made by California certified laboratories. <br /> 5. Prepare bacterial additive, after incubation period, dilute <br /> and spray over the entire surface of the contaminated soil . <br /> 6. Thoroughly mix the entire contaminated soil mass. <br /> 7. Sprinkle the soil surface' with water to maintain 30 - 70 percent <br /> moisture condition at all times. <br /> 8. Repeat items 6 and 7 above on a daily basis to ensure that <br /> adequate oxygen and moisture reaches the entire mass. <br /> 9. Take samples of soil every two weeks for laboratory analysis <br /> to determine treatment progress. <br /> Note: Depending on the temperature, concentration of contaminant and <br /> type of soil , it is estimated that most treatment cycles will <br /> range from 2-3 weeks in summer to 10-14 weeks in winter. <br /> 10. When laboratory analysis indicates that the soil ' s petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon level has been reduced to meet regulatory agency <br /> acceptable standards , the treated soil will be hauled to a <br /> preapproved site where it will be spread to a depth of 0. 2 feet <br /> to 0. 3 feet. The soil will be allowed to dry on the soil mantle. <br /> 11. At the appropriate season, the soil mass will be fertilized, <br /> planted, and farmed to complete the cleanup cycle and enhance <br /> the native soil. mantle. <br /> 12. After the cleansed soil is hauled away to its permanent resting <br /> place, the concrete slab will be reloaded as indicated above <br /> and treated as stated in items 1-11. <br /> 3 <br />
