kn KLKLEINEELDER
TABLE 3
REGIONAL GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY
The site is located in the Great Valley Geographic Province in
Central California. This province was formed by the filling of a
large structural trough or downwarp of the underlying bedrock.
REGIONAL The trough is situated between the Sierra Nevada Mountains
GEOMORPHIC on the east and the Coast and Cascade Ranges on the west.
PROVINCE The trough, which underlies the valley, is asymmetrical with
the greatest depth of sediments along the eastern margin.
The sediments that fill the trough originated as erosional debris
from the adjacent mountains and foothills.
According to the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water
Conservation District (SJCFCWCD) Lines of Equal Depth to
Groundwater, Spring 1999 and Lines of Equal Elevation Map,
DEPTH TO Spring 2003, depth to water in the site area is approximately
REGIONAL 45 feet below grade with a flow direction to the southeast
GROUNDWATERPP
towards an apparent pumping depression. Groundwater depth
and flow direction may be influenced by local pumping, rainfall,
and irrigation patterns. Evaluation of such factors is beyond
the scope of this workplan.
57252.T02/ST05R999/DH:ly Page 8 of 29
©2005 Kleinfelder, Inc. September 1,2005
