0 • k KLEINFELDER
3 SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND RESEARCH
Kleinfelder has reviewed the DTSC site inspection report and was provided a site plan
of the Plating Room and Treatment Area summarizing tank locations and contents.
This information was used to develop the sampling and analyses plan and the attached
proposed sample location maps on Plates 3 and 4 (Appendix A). It is Kleinfelder's
understanding a typical Phase I Environmental Site Assessment per ASTM standards
(ESA) has not been conducted. Therefore, several typical areas of background
information have not been formally addressed, such as aerial photograph review,
evaluation of offsite properties, database searches, etc. However, there appears to be
sufficient data in which to proceed with addressing DTSCs concerns (See Item 1.4).
57252.T02/ST05R999/DH:Iv Page 5 of 29
©2005 Kleinfelder, Inc.
