l <br /> /APEX <br /> 7844 Madison Avenue,SuEte 106 • Fair Oaks,CA 95628 <br /> E N V I R 0 T E C H J N C . 1 800 242 5249 • Ph 916 535 0200 • Fax 916 535 0207 <br /> November 4, 1998 <br /> Ms Lynn Swanson <br /> Colberg Boat Works <br /> P O Box 1288 <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> Subject Fourth Quarter 1998 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Colberg Boat Works <br /> 858 West Fremont Street (401 North Stockton Street) <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Apex Project No COLO1 001 <br /> Dear Ms Swanson = <br /> Apex Envirotech, Inc (Apex), is pleased to provide you with this report documenting the results <br /> of the groundwater monitoring conducted at the subject site (Figure 1)on October 22, 1998 <br /> This report is based, in part, on information obtained by Apex from Colberg Boat Works, and is <br /> subject to modification as newly acquired information may warrant <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The subject site is located in the western portion of Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, at <br /> an elevation of approximately 10 feet above mean sea level The site contains several marine <br /> service warehouse/storage buildings on approximately three acres of land and is located in an <br /> industrial area of Stockton, California(Figure 1) The site is nearly level and is bordered by the <br /> Stockton Deep Water Channel to the south The site is a former ship yard which is no longer <br /> active,with the exception of limited boat storage(Figure 2) <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> On May 16, 1986,Jim Thorpe 011, Inc removed two 550-gallon diesel, one 8,000-gallon diesel, <br /> and one 1,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) from the site The area around <br /> the former gasoline UST was over-excavated in 1988 <br /> • In February 1993, Telic Engineering Corporation(TEC) of Stockton, California, performed a <br /> Phase I investigation of the subject site and surrounding area within a one-mile radius TEC's <br />
