Fourth Quarter 1998 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> CoIberg Boat Works,401 North Stockton Street, Stockton,California <br /> Page 3 <br /> Groundwater Sampling and Analysis <br /> On October 22, 1998, Apex personnel collected groundwater samples from monitoring wells <br /> MW-1 through MW-3 in accordance to the Apex SOP included as Appendix A No samples <br /> were taken from groundwater monitoring wells MW-4 through MW-6 due to the previous <br /> closure request Also, analysis for concentrations of TPHd and concentrations of oxygenate <br /> constituents, with the exception of MTBE have been discontinued for groundwater monitoring <br /> wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3 The samples were submitted, under chain-of-custody <br /> documentation, to California Laboratory Services of Rancho Cordova, California, a state- <br /> certified analytical laboratory The samples were analyzed for concentrations of total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons, as gasoline (TPHg) by EPA Method 8015 Modified and benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl t-butyl ether(MTBE) by EPA Method 8020 <br /> The analytical results are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory analytical reports and chain-of- <br /> custody form are included in Appendix B Figure 4 shows the distributions of TPHg,benzene <br /> and MTBE in the shallow groundwater on October 22, 1998 at the subject site <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> • Apex has submitted a feasibility study workplan to determine the potential for using ORC to <br /> remediate the petroleum products present in MW-3 To this date, this workplan has not yet been <br /> approved by San Joaquin County Apex recommends approval of this workplan and proceeding <br /> with the ORC application as soon as possible <br /> Apex also requests that San Joaquin County provide a wntten response to the recommendation to <br /> discontinue the monitoring of wells MW-4 through MW-6 <br /> REPORT DISTRIBUTION <br /> Apex submitted a copy of this report to <br /> 1 Mr Jeffrey Wong <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> 2 Ms Elizabeth Thayer <br /> Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> 3443 Routier Road, Suite A <br /> Sacramento, California 95 827-3 015 <br /> Ki D TROJECT'SW01-01 001-COLBERG BOAT WORKSIQMR10981QMRTEXT DOC <br />
