Advance 3 Cone Penetrometer (CPT) soil borings to approximately 150 feet below surface
grade (bsg) to collect grab groundwater samples using hydropunch to define the vertical
extent of the contamination in groundwater at the above-referenced site.
2. Contingency to install up to 3 deep monitoring wells based on the analytical results of the
CPT grab water.samples. Monitoring wells will be installed using mud-rotary to depths
between 100 to 150 feet based on geological profile and results of the CPT investigation.
Installation of the monitoring wells may not be required if grab water samples from the CPT
investigation indicates non-presence of contamination in the deep groundwater zones.
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
1. Advance one CPT boring with sensor tip to profile the geology and identify the depths
where samples are to be collected. Collect discrete groundwater sample from separate
CPT/hydropunch borings to control against potential cross-contamination.
2. Implement the proposed work by February 27,2004. Submit appropriate permit application
and fee to EHD in advance.
REASONS FOR DISAPPROVAL OF THE WORKPLAN (H&S 25299.37,subd.(C)(3).):
None 'I
15i2bo4BY C . k .
