(WI-IF). Analytical results of the water sample collected from the
tap from of the domestic water supply well at the above-referenced site continued to be not
detect. Analytical results of the water samples collected from monitoring wells MW-9,MW-
1,MW-2,and MW-6 are as follows:
Groundwater analytical results
screen Location J TPH- Benzene Toluene MTBE 1,2-DCA
MW-9 70-90 —5'east of DW 630 5.4 0.6 ND 5.3
MW-1 69-89 15'north of DW 1,100 8.8 1.8 ND 41
MW-2 70-90 150'NW of DW 13,000 2,800 1,600 ND 1.8
MW-6 95-100 123'NW of DW 1 200 55 78 100 230
Results are in micrograms per liter(µg/1)
ND =not detect
DW=Domestic well
Screen = all numbers are in feet below surface grade
TPH-g = Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
MTBE =Methyl tert butyl ether
1,2-DCA = 1,2-dichoroethane
Analytical results of the samples collected from the spigot of the domestic well have been
consistently not detect. No samples were ever collected directly from the domestic well with
control against turbulence and potential loss of volatile compounds in the samples.
However, analytical results of samples collected from MW_1,MW-2,MW-6,and MW-9 have
been consistently above the California Department of Health Services primary maximum
contaminant level (MCL) which is 1 µg/1 for benzene and 0.5 µg/1 for 1,2-dichoroethane
(1,2-DCA) in drinking water. The highest concentration of benzene detected in the
groundwater samples collected from MW-1 since 1999 was 13,000 µg/l of benzene in
December 1999. MTBE has been consistently detected at concentrations above 100 µg/1 in
MW-6 during the last fall quarter since its installation.
A Division of San Joaquin County Hcalth Care Serviccs
