In the nine months since f
t the approval of the revisions, the proposed work has yet to commence at the /
above-referenced site.
Mr. Bill Fox of WHF, Inc. stated in a telephone conversation on May 1, 1998 that
they were obtaining bids for the proposed work from contractors and that the
bidding should be completed around May 12, 1998. Mr. Fox estimated pre-
approval from the State Water Resources Control Board Petroleum Underground
Storage Tank Cleanup Fund (Fund) would be obtained by May 27, 1998.
In a telephone conversation with Mr. Fox on August 21, 1998, he again stated
that contractors were bidding on the proposed work and that pre-approval from
the Fund had not been obtained yet.
In the nine months since the approval of the final revisions of the work plan,
PHS/EHD has not received any quarterly reports on the investigation status,
actions taken at the site, and time schedules for implementing the proposed
actions as required by California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 23, Division 3,
Chapter 16, Section 2652. Submission of quarterly reports is to begin
immediately and continue until the site investigation and remediation is complete.
Contamination at the site was further documented in the "Phase II - Site
Assessment Report of Findings" dated June 7, 1997 prepared by WHF, Inc.
Analytical results of the soil samples collected at 20 feet below ground surface
.
