The
resident/RP does not want us working on the site; the consultant has
proposed low-risk closure; our geologist has said no to low-risk closure
due to the proximity of the two domestic wells; and I never got a
response from Hari on our question below about relocating the domestic
wells.
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
lduncan@sjcehd.com
(209) 468-0337 phone
(209) 468-3433 fax
From: Lori Duncan [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, March 02, 2011 10:47 AM
To: 'Hari Patel'
Cc: DAVID CHARTER
Subject: RE: FW: FW: Claim No 8525, Your Case No. 2021
Hari,
I understand it is site specific and that each site is evaluated
individually and a determination is made based on the sites technical
aspects. That is what I am asking you. At this site, based on the
proximity of the plume to the onsite well and the fact that the
neighbors well has had two reported detections of MtBE in it, would the
CUF pay to relocate both wells in order to reduce the risk to both wells
and close the site? Is this a path we should pursue?
Thank you,
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
lduncan@sjcehd.com
(209) 468-0337 phone
(209) 468-3433 fax
From: Hari Patel [mailto:HPATEL@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Wednesday, March 02, 2011 10:33 AM
To: Lori Duncan [EH]
Cc: DAVID CHARTER
Subject: Re: FW: FW: Claim No 8525, Your Case No. 2021
Site specific. If the well does not have contamination in it
than may be not. if the well is contaminated from petroleum
hydrocarbons from an site with eligible petroleum hydrocarbon as the
source of contamination in the well. Each site is evaluated
individually and a determination is based on the technical aspects.
Hope this helps
Thanks
Himanshu (Hari) Patel
3
