ATC Associates Inc.
YATC
1117 Lane Palm Avenue,Suite 201
Modesto,California 95351 f
209-579-2221
ASSOCIATES i N c. Fax:209-579-2225
vapor extraction system. A Solleco 250 ECAT electric/thermal catalytic oxidizer was installed on
site.
The remediation system consisted of four vapor wells (V W I through V W4) connected by
subsurface piping to an electric catalytic/thermal oxidizer. The thermal oxidizer is a 250 ECAT
manufactured by Solleco. The remediation system is optimized to run at a minimum of 600
degrees Fahrenheit(F)at a total flow rate of 235 cubic feet per minute(SCFM).
A 15 by 20 foot privacy slat chain-link fence was installed by Hayes Fence Company, enclosing the
remediation compound. Slats were installed in the fence to provide visual screening of the
equipment installed on the property.
Request to establish a secondary power source for the remediation system was submitted to Pacific
Gas &Electric(PG&E) Company on July 13,2005. On August 18,2005, an engineer from PG&E
visited the site to describe the most feasible and cost effective manner to establish a separate power
source to the remediation compound.
Remediation system startup was performed on September 6, 2005. At the time of startup, vapor
samples were taken under supervision of a SJVACD regulator. At time of startup (September 6,
2005), analytical results for the influent sample detected TPHg vapors at a concentration of
21,000 parts per million by volume (PPMv). TPHg results for the effluent were measured at 11
PPMv. These values represent a 99.95% destruction efficiency for the SVE system at time of
startup. The system operated approximately 10 hours a day, however due to noise complaints by
on-site residents of the temporary generator, the SVE system was started and turned off daily by
field technicians.
ATC submitted the Remediation System Installation Report on September 21,2005 documenting
the installation of the vapor extraction system. On November 1,2005,ATC submitted the Vapor
Extraction System Startup report for the site.
PG&E installed a new transformer on a near-by existing electric pole located on Steinegul Road
and ran an over-head power to a customer built pole on the property. The generator was taken off-
line on February 20,2006 when the direct feed electrical service was completed.
SCOPE OF WORK
Planning and Permits
I
EHD permits and associated fees for the advancement of six soil borings are attached. ATC will
schedule field personnel and equipment, notify Underground Services Alert to locate
underground utilities as required, and perform other necessary field preparation and job start-up
activities.
wA25291keportsbvkpCPT.doc 3
