(Figure 1) Monitoring and sampling were performed to evaluate the groundwater <br /> IPflow direction, hydraulic gradient and the distribution of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater <br /> at the site <br /> iOperations and maintenance (O&M) were performed on the soil vapor extraction (SVE) system <br /> during monthly sampling and monitoring events <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In May 1987, one 550-gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST) and one 1,000-gallon <br />' gasoline UST were removed from the site by H&H Ship Service The USTs were transported <br /> and disposed of at the Levin Metal Corporation disposal site in Richmond, California A soil <br /> i sample collected from beneath the 1,000-gallon UST contained detectable concentrations of <br /> benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) constituents <br /> In March 1997, WHF, Inc , supervised the advancement of one soil boring to 80 feet below <br /> ground surface (bgs) Soil and groundwater samples contained detectable concentrations of total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and BTEX A water sample was collected from the <br />' on-site drinking water well and was reported to contain no detectable concentrations of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons (TPHg and BTEX) <br /> In December 1998, BSK & Associates (BSK) advanced five borings at the site and completed <br /> four as monitoring wells (MW 1 through MW4) Soil samples collected from 132 and MW2 <br /> S 1625=031quarterIy\2-nd qtr-2006 doc <br />
