SECOR
August 18, 2000 International Incorporated
Mr. Michael J. Infurna, Jr.
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
304 East Weber Avenue, 3'"Floor
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Re: Evaluation of Potable Water Sources
Ranch Market Site,
23569 South Santa Fe Road
Riverbank, CA
Mr. Infurna:
This letter is in response to a request for evaluation of a potable drinking water source to replace
DW-2 at the Ranch Market Site made by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(SJCEHD) in a letter dated April 26, 2000 and July 31, 2000 (Attachment 1). Three possible
options have been identified as sources of potable water to replace the domestic well,DW-2, at
the Pantoja Property(23565 S. Santa Fe Road, Riverbank, CA; APN 249-070-011) (Attachment
1, Figures 1, 2). The three potable water supply options are discussed below.
Option 1 City of Riverbank Municipal Water Supply
The City of Riverbank Public Works Department operates municipal water supply wells that are
used to supply water to the city residents. The supply wells and water supply lines are located in
the City of Riverbank on the south side of the Stanislaus River in Stanislus County. According
to Mr. Randal Dodd with the City of Riverbank Public Works Department, the supply wells have
been drilled to depths over 600 feet deep to avoid nitrates found in the shallow sediments. This
option will require installation of new waterline from the main waterline over the Santa Fe Road
Bridge to the Pantoja property.
This option would solve the long-term water needs for the Pantoja property. If engineered
properly, the water line could also supply water to following end users:
The Ranch Market Property, 23569 S Santa Fe Road, APN 249-070-12;
The Jose Cano Property, 23659 S Santa Fe Road, APN 249-070-10;
The Troy Roe Property, 23665 S Santa Fe Road, APN 249-070-09;
The City of Riverbank Meyers Park located on the north side of the river; and
The City of Riverbank Sewage Treatment Plant.
File:Ranch MarketToffaterSource.ltrAnc
3017 Kilgore Road, Suite 100,Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916.861.0400 916.861.0430 Fax www.secor.com
