" <br /> "The placing of homes immediately adjacent to the canal creates a <br /> highly undesirable situation. By the means of this letter and at <br /> the direction of the Board of Directors of this District , we are <br /> lodging a protest against the project as delineated on the ten- <br /> tative map. " <br /> If approved, they request " . . . the installation of a six-foot <br /> cyclone fence, set in concrete, and without gates or other ope- <br /> nings leading to the canal . " <br /> Public Works Department (response, 12-30-85) : <br /> "The site is not located within a Federal Flood Insurance <br /> Administration Designated Flood Hazard Area. Pearson Road and <br /> Morse Road have an existing right-of-way width of 40 feet and a <br /> planned right-of-way width of 50 feet . " <br /> Recommendation: "A 10-foot roadway dedication on Pearson Road <br /> along Frontage on Parcel A is required.
