Quarterly Monitoring and Sampling Report(Ql 2002) 3
Ranch Market,23569 Santa Fe Road,Riverbank,California April 26,2002
respectively Based on the Induced vacuum response (0 2 inches of water at 40 feet) and the
slight rise in groundwater levels in off setting monitoring wells, the SVE radius of Influence was
estimated to be 40 feet Although the air sparging did not result in an Immediate Increase in
TPHg vapor concentrations, the increase in dissolved oxygen concentration and slight nse in the
water table in offsetting wells Indicates a radius of influence of approximately 30 feet Details
related to the feasibility test are presented in SECOR's Problem Assessment Report, dated
November S, 2000
Final Remediation Plan
SECOR submitted a Final Remediation Plan (FRP) on March 2, 2001, which was approved by
the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region, (RWQCB) in a
letter dated March 26, 2001 The FRP explained details of the remedial plan, which proposed 10
soil vapor extraction (SVE) wells and 12 ozone sparge wells The SVE wells would be piped to
a 500 scfm catalytic oxidizer and the ozone wells would connect to a 20 cfm ozone sparging unit
Subsequent to the submittal of the FRP, SECOR expanded the remediation well array to include
11 additional ozone sparge wells, for a total of 23 ozone wells The system was expanded to
destroy dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons over a greater area
Domestic Wells
Four domestic water supply wells are located within 340 feet of the former tank pit(Figure 2)
Well# Location from Tank Pit Comments
DW-1 90 feet west of tank pit Onsite well
DW-2 120 feet south of tank pit Down gradient well (Well destroyed)
DW-3 245 feet south of tank pit Down gradient of tank pit
DW-4 340 feet south of tank pit Down gradient of tank pit
DW-2R 200 feet south of tank pit Down gradient of tank pit (Well installed
December, 2000)
Water samples collected from domestic wells have been analyzed for the presence of BTEX,
TPHg, five oxygenates, 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), and ethylene dibrorrude (EDB) Since
water samples collected from DW-2 contained reportable concentrations of MtBE, the well was
taken out of service
On April 6, 2000, SECOR's field technician interviewed the property owners or renters
associated with the four domestic water wells and found that water pumped from wells DW-1,
DW-3, and DW-4 was used for irrigation and domestic use All parties interviewed indicated
they were drinking bottled water
File Ranch MarketlReportlRiverbank-02-IQ
