1 Problem Assessment Report Page 1 <br /> Ranch Market,23569 South Santa Fe Road Riverbank,CA November 8,2000 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This Problem Assessment Report (PAR) is submitted by SECOR International Incorporated <br /> (SECOR) for the Ranch Market Site located at 23569 South Santa Fe Road, Riverbank, <br /> California (the Site, Figures 1 and 2) This PAR was prepared in response to the California <br />' Regional Water Quality Control Board-Central Valley Region (RWQCB) letter dated August <br /> 18, 2000 This PAR incorporates the requirements of Appendix A of the Tri-Regional <br /> Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation Evaluation of Underground Storage Tank <br /> Sites and includes <br /> • A summary of current and past Site use <br /> • A summary of environmental investigations and results <br /> • A summary of current Site conditions <br /> t • A summary of the soil vapor extraction and air sparge well installation <br /> • A summary of the soil vapor extraction and air sparge feasibility test <br /> • A review of remedial approaches for the removal and/or insitu destruction of gasoline <br />' adsorbed to soil and dissolved in groundwater at the Site <br /> • A conceptual design of the recommended remedial alternative <br /> As part of the PAR, the results of the well installation and soil vapor extraction/air sparge <br /> (SVE/AS) feasibility test are summarized in this report All field work was completed in <br /> accordance with SECOR's Work Plan for Well Installation and Feasibility Testing, dated <br /> 10 <br /> September 13, 2000, which was approved in the September 25, 2000 letter from the RWQCB <br /> (Appendix 1) <br /> 2,0 SITE HISTORY <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> Ranch Market is located on the west side of the road at 23569 South Santa Fe Road, <br /> Riverbank, California Currently the Site is being operated as a small convenience store The <br />' single story structure on the site is used as a convenience store and home for the store <br /> manager The Site is located approximately 1,200 feet north of the Stanislaus River in San <br /> Joaquin County The property is bounded on the north and east by Santa Fe Road and an <br /> almond orchard, to the west by undeveloped fields that extend to a Santa Fe Railroad track, <br /> and to the south by three residences shown on Figure 2 The Site and adjacent properties are <br /> flat lying and have an elevation of approximately 105 feet above mean sea level <br /> 2.2 Stora Underground a Tank Removal <br /> g g <br /> The site was previously operated as a convenience store and retail gasoline fueling facility <br /> with three single walled steel gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) as shown on Figure <br /> 3 The date of installation, operation history, and inventory records of the USTs at the Site is <br /> unknown The three USTs two 1,000-gallon and one 5,000-gallon UST and associated <br /> pumps were removed from the Site on May 20, 1991 The single dispenser island was located <br /> directly over the tank pit, so no dispenser or fuel line soil samples were collected During <br /> File PAR-report doe SECOR Intemattonal Incorporated <br />
