Soil Boring and Monitoring Well Installation Report Page I <br /> Ranch Market,Riverbank,CA September 6 2000 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report is submitted by SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) on behalf of Ranch <br /> Market to summarize the methods and results of work conducted at and adjacent to 23569 <br /> South Santa Fe Road, Riverbank, California (the Site, Figures I and 2) The work was <br /> conducted in accordance with SECOR's Revised Work Plan For Soil and Groundwater <br /> Assessment, dated April 25, 2000, which was approved by the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) and the California Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board-Central Valley Region (RWQCB) <br /> The work summarized in this report Includes <br /> 1 Site history and previous sampling <br /> 2 Obtaining permits and preparing a health and safety plan <br /> 3 Clearing boring locations using Underground Service Alert (USA) and a private utility <br /> locator <br /> 4 Drilling and sampling four GeoprobeTM bonngs and nine hollow stem auger (HSA) <br /> soil borings <br /> 5 Installing six groundwater monitoring wells as shown on Table 1 <br /> 6 Developing the newly installed groundwater monitoring wells <br /> 7 Conducting groundwater monitoring well and domestic well sampling <br /> 8 Conducting a Sensitive receptor Survey, including a Department of Water Resources <br /> (DWR) file search and field inspection <br /> 9 Recommendations for further monitoring and sampling and a remedial feasibility test <br /> at the Site <br /> 2.0 SITE HISTORY <br /> Ranch Market is located at 23569 South Santa Fe Road, Riverbank, California Currently the <br /> Site is being operated as a small convenience store The site was previously operated as a <br /> commercial fueling station The Site is the former location of three underground storage <br /> tanks (USTs) The approximate location of the three USTs are shown on Figure 3 Two <br /> 1,000-gallon and one 5,000-gallon USTs and associated pumps were removed from the Site <br /> on May 20, 1991 During removal of the three USTs, soil contamination was observed at the <br /> bottom of the tank excavation and documented in five soil samples collected after removal of <br /> the tanks (Figure 3,Table 2) On January 23, 1998, boring B-1 was drilled and sampled to <br /> assess conditions in soil and groundwater beneath the UST pit (Figures 2 and 3, and Tables 2 <br /> and 3) On November 24, 1998 four monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW--4) were installed <br /> on and adjacent to the location of the former UST pit (Figure 2) <br /> Analytical results from samples collected at the time of excavation, from B-1, and from <br /> MW-1 through MW-4 confirmed the presence of gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> adsorbed to soil and dissolved in groundwater at the Ranch Market Site (Tables 2 and 3) Per <br /> regulatory directives, additional investigation was completed by SECOR and is discussed <br /> below <br /> File R-Wellinstall&M&S rpt doe SECOR International Incorporated <br />
