3
GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELLS
Groundwater monitoring wells consisting of two-inch diameter, exterior, flush threaded
NSF approved rigid 40 well casing and well screen, were installed at the site The locations of the
wells are illustrated m Figure 2. Stabilized groundwater was encountered in the borings at a
depth of approximately 26 feet below grade
The wells were installed using hollow stem auger equipment Each well was completed
%ith a filter packed well screen, bentonite seal, and a sanitary seal, which consisted of
bentomte/cement grout slurry Each well was developed using surge block and bailing methods
For details see the Well Logs m Appendix B.
SOIL SAMPLE ANALYSIS
Four soil samples from each soil bormg/moniton ng well were analyzed for BTEX and
TPHg using EPA methods 8020/8015 The soil sample at a depth of 30 feet was also tested for the
oxygenates compounds Sample analysis was conducted by Sherwood Laboratory, a state certified
laboratory, located in Hilmar, California Sample identities and analytical results for each
constituent detected are presented in Table 2. Certified analytical reports and completed Cham-of--
Custody documents are presented in Appendix C.
Table 2
Soil Analyses for BTEX-TPH-g
23569 South Santa Fe Road
Riverbank, California
January 23, 1998
•
Boring No. B-1
Benzene Toluene Ethel(ug/kg) Total(ug/kg)
Depth (feet) (ug& (i, /kg) Benzene Xylene TPH-g(rng/k )
20 5000 233000 61600 323000 4140
25 4090 9660 1770 10300 131
30 583 675 80 401 6
Soil Sample Analyses
November 24, 25 1998
MW-2
15 793 1660 580 7360 135
20 183000 1280000 405000 2080000 28100
30 2200 1330 116 911 13
35 6 20 7 32 ND<1
MW-3
15 5 3 ND<3 9 ND<1
20 3530 4580 372 2150 31
30 29600 221000 84400 439000 608
35 7 33 10 54 ND<1
MW-4
15 ND<3 ND<3 ND<3 ND<3 ND<1
20 128 164 23 120 3
30 29600 496 144 638 8
