i <br /> Quarterly Monitoring Program and Remedial System Report(Q2/2000) 4 <br /> Ranch Market 23569 Santa Fe Road,Riverbank,California May 1 2000 <br /> Groundwater Sampling Procedures <br /> The groundwater monitoring wells were re-monitored to verify at least 80% recovery prior to <br /> sampling Adequate recovery was observed in the purged wells prior to sampling A disposable <br /> bailer was used to collect the groundwater samples All samples were collected in appropriate <br /> containers, preserved on ice, and transported under chain-of-custody manifest to Kiff Analytical <br /> LLC located in Davis, California <br /> The water samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX), <br /> methyl-ternary-butyl-ether(MtBE), total purgeable petroleum hydrocarbons quantified-as- <br /> gasoline (TPHg), TBA, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, 1,2 DCA, and EDB using EPA method 8260B <br /> Groundwater Analytical Results <br /> Historical and recent groundwater laboratory analytical results are summarized in Table 2 The <br /> highest TPHg concentration was detected in monitoring well MW-2 at 42,000 parts per billion <br /> (ppb) (Figure 5) The highest Benzene concentration was detected in monitoring well MW-2 at <br /> 8,100 ppb MtBE concentrations were at highest in MW-2 at 850 ppb Water sample collected <br /> from domestic well DW-2 contained concentrations of MtBE at 7 0 ppb Copies of the <br /> laboratory analytical reports and chain-of-custody manifests are included in Attachment 4 <br /> Conclusion <br /> Four groundwater monitoring wells and four domestic water wells were sampled this quarter <br /> The depth to water rose approximately 1 76 feet below grade surface since December 1999 <br /> Concentrations of benzene decreased in wells MW-1 and MW-3 this quarter MtBE <br /> concentrations were reported in all monitoring wells and continue to be reported in domestic well <br /> DW-2 The variations observed in the analytical results of the water samples in Second Quarter <br /> 2000 are consistent to the historical fluctuations reported in previous quarters <br /> Future Work <br /> Future work planned for the third quarter 2000 include the following tasks <br /> • Continued quarterly monitoring and sampling at the subject site <br /> • Log domestic wells DW-1 and DW-2 using a down hole video camera <br /> i <br /> File Riverbank-00 2Q rpt dac <br />
