145 South Sutter
Page 2
Actually, groundwater samples have only been collected once, from selected wells,
during 1996. Since all wells have not been sampled simultaneously since 1993,
the fourth quarter (Oct-Dec) 1996 monitoring and sampling event should include all
wells.
The report included the recommendation to continue quarterly groundwater
monitoring for one year after which a corrective action plan would be prepared. It
is clear that significant soil and groundwater contamination continues to exist
which requires remediation. Once the results from the fourth quarter monitoring
and sampling event are available, a corrective action plan should be prepared
pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 16
Underground Storage Tank Regulations Article 11 Section 2725 with authority
under the California Health and Safety Code, Chapter 6.75 §25299.37.
PHS/EHD would be pleased to provide any further direction or information which
you require.
