83 WEST MARCH LANE
SUITE 12
STOCKTON,CA 95207
nM PHONE:(209)479.1835
AUlUMFIS X81GNER6WI8I1L1Mn
January 21, 1993
Mr. Richard Callistro
San Joaquin County Capital Projects
222 East Weber Avenue, Room 678
Stockton, CA 95202 Proposal No, P-93-0142-00
SUBJECT: Proposal for Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring
Addendum to Proposal Dated June 24, 1992
Human Serti ces Agency Building
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Callistro:
Per our recent telephone conversation, ROY F. WESTON, INC. (WESTON) understands that
the County wishes to proceed with quarterly groundwater monitoring of the wells installed by
WESTON in the vicinity of the Human Services Agency Building in downtown Stockton.
WESTON proposed such a program in June 1992 but the County was unable to authorize the
work at that time.
SCOPE OF WORK D1SCUSSYON
The major elements of WESTON's previous groundwater monitoring proposal dated June 24,
1992 remain unchanged. However, there are several issues which may influence the scope of
work which need to be addressed at this time. These issues are discussed below:
1. WESTON proposes the following revised sampling and reporting schedule:
Analyses Quarter RUorl Due
BTEX, TPH-G 1st (Jan - Feb - March, 1993) April 15, 1993
BTEX, TPH-G 2nd (April - May - June, 1993) July 15, 1993
BTEX, TPH-G 3rd (July - Aug - Sept, 1993) October 15, 1993
BTEX, TPH-G 4th (Oct - Nov - Dee, 1993) January 15, 1994
2. WESTON originally proposed analyzing the water samples only for BTEX and TPH-G.
WESTON still believes this analytical suite comprises an adequate monitoring program
due to the historic absence or very low concentrations of TPH-D, EDB and Total Lead
found in the wells during the initial sampling effort. However, it is possible that the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (F-HD) may require additional analyses.
To cover this possibility, the additional cost per sample is shown in the cost estimate
section of this proposal.
St%C W ROP08ALtC1114f RO.MT
