Resources Landfill in Santa Barbara County, California (270 <br /> cubic yards) . The soil which contained less than 1000 ppm of <br /> TPH were disposed at the Forward Incorporated Landfill in San <br /> Joaquin County, California (a total of 1,698 cubic yards) . <br /> 0 The Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest system was used to track <br /> a3.1 shipments of soil classified as hazardous (TPH concentra- <br /> tion >100o ppm) from the site to the Casmalia disposal <br /> facility. Bill of Lading records were maintained for all <br /> shipments of non-hazardous soil to the Forward disposal <br /> " facility. No exceptions were reported. A Manifest and Bill <br /> of Lading summary is presented in Appendix A. <br /> G Personal protective equipment as specified in the Work Plan <br /> was used by project personnel. No accidents or chemical <br /> exposure incidents occurred during the project. w <br /> o Air monitoring was conducted on the periphery of the excava- <br /> tion and nearby work areas during any earth moving operation. <br /> This monitoring was conducted utilizing an HNu photoionization <br /> vapor detection instrument. Dust generation was minimized by <br /> i continuous wetting of the soils during excavation and all <br /> bystanders were kept outside any area designated as an <br /> exclusion zone. <br /> 3.0 Project organization <br /> The excavation work was conducted by WESTON's Subcontractor, Decon <br /> Environmental, Inc. and was supervised by ROY F. WESTON, INC. <br /> (WESTON) under contract to San Joaquin County. The pace of the excavation was <br /> dictated by the time lag beuween sampling and receipt of verbal <br /> analytical results from the analytical laboratory. Generally, a <br /> 24 hour turn around time for reporting of analytical results was <br /> maintained. <br /> - 3 - <br />
