QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY
FOURTH QUARTER 1993
' 1.0 INTRODUCTION
On behalf of the San Joaquin County Human Services Agency and San Joaquin County Capital
' Projects Division, ROY F WESTON, INC (WESTON®) is pleased to submit this quarterly
groundwater monitoring report for the fourth quarter 1993 The program has been mandated
by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (EHD) for the
' purpose of determining the distribution of hydrocarbon compounds in groundwater beneath and
in the vicinity of the Human Services Agency building located at 145 South Sutter Street in
' downtown Stockton (Figure 1) In addition, the monitoring program provides data on
groundwater physical parameters of temperature, electrical conductivity and pH, as well as
groundwater elevations and flow direction in the area
' 2.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING SUMMARY
' A total of seven wells (MW-2 through MW-8) are monitored under this program (Figure 2)
MW-1, installed during an early phase of investigation, is not part of the monitoring program
because it was abandoned to allow construction of the Human Services building Monitor wells
MW-2 and MW-3, while part of the current program, have been dry for the past several years
These wells continued to be dry during the fourth quarter monitoring event Therefore, the
fourth quarter monitoring program consisted of physical parameter monitoring, sampling, and
' analysis of wells MW-4 through MW-8 (total of five wells) All sampling was conducted
October 7, 1993
' The monitoring program consists of two aspects 1) field measurement of groundwater physical
parameters and 2) collection and analysis of water samples for specific analytes In addition to
the basic well sampling program, two quality control samples were also collected One field
' duplicate sample (coded MW-10) was taken from well MW-8 as a check on laboratory
reproducibility and one sample (coded MW-11) was taken of equipment decontamination rinse
water after sampling MW-8 to evaluate the thoroughness of field decontamination procedures
' A detailed description of the field activities is presented in the attached Field Report,
Appendix A
' STK1RP'TSMC 4TH WP 02/04/44
