FIELD REPORT
GROUNDWATER MONITORING
' SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY BUILDING
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
1 Introduction
' On April 15 and 16, 1993, ROY F. WESTON, INC (WESTON) conducted a sampling program
of five monitoring wells located in the vicinity of the San Joaquin County Human Services
building in downtown Stockton This sampling was conducted in order to evaluate the possible
' presence of gasoline-related compounds in the groundwater
Water Level Measurement and Monitor Well Puree
' On arrival at the site, measurements of standing water levels and total well depth were taken in
wells MW-2 through MW-8 utilizing an electronic well sounding device Wells MW-2 and
' MW-3 were dry Groundwater elevations relative to mean sea level (MSL) were calculated and
the results are presented in Table A-1 below
' TABLE A-1
Water Level Elevations
April 15 and 16, 1993
Well Location Well Elevation (feet) Depth to Water (teet) Water Elevation (feet)
' MW-1 Abandoned NA' NA
MW-2 Approximately 13 50 Dry NA
' MW-3 Approximately 13 50 Dry NA
MW-4 13 46 5050 37 04
' MW-5 12 83 48 63 35 80
MW-6 13 17 49 75 36 58
' MW-7 13 14 51 50 38 36
11 MW-8 13 76 51 87 38 11
' 1 Based upon measurements made trom top of PVC casing (TOC)
2 Elevations in feet relative to mean sea level (MSL)
3 NA = Not applicable
I
The water level measurements were also used to calculate the required purge volumes for the
monitor wells From these measurements the standing water volume within the well casing was
calculated to determine the necessary purge volume of three times the casing volume A clean
' I rM1RPT WC IST WP A - I 65116!93
