R y
Confirmation Soil Boring Report
Former FISCO WAREHOUSE (Howard Lenz Property)
1648 Shaw Road, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr.Peter Lenz on behalf of Mrs.Alice G.Lenz,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
(AGE) has prepared the enclosed Confirmation Soil Boring Report for the property located at
1648 Shaw Road, Stockton, California(site). The scope of work included advancement of two soil
borings, soil sampling and analysis, calculation of the remaining hydrocarbon mass in soil,
evaluation of the environmental screening levels of analyzed soil samples and preparation of this
report. The above work was performed to confirm the effectiveness of soil vapor extraction(SVE)
remediation at the site. The mass hydrocarbons calculation in soil prior to remediation was presented
in AGE-prepared Interim Corrective Action Plan, dated 20 January 2005.
The SVE system began operation on 19 January 2006 with a total of 3,451 lbs of total petroleum
hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) extracted since the system began operation. TPH-g
concentrations were declining or below detection levels and appeared to be reaching an asymptotic
plateau,therefore,on 30 May 2008,the SVE unit was taken off-line for an EHD-approved"rebound"
period.
On 27 October 2008, after approximately 5 months of SVE cessation, the SVE system was brought
on-line for rebound testing to determine if hydrocarbon concentrations in soil vapor remained at or
below detection limits. Results of rebound testing conducted during the fourth quarter 2008 indicated
hydrocarbon mass remaining in soil had been reduced to a level that could no longer be successfully
remediated by SVE. Rebound testing ended on 17 December 2008, and the SVE system was taken
off-line.
The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1, and a plan of the site with boring locations is
illustrated on Figure 2. Site background information is provided in Appendix A.
2.0 PROCEDURES
Field work was performed in accordance with procedures outlined in the AGE-prepared
Remediation Confirmation Work Plan dated 24 February 2009, which was approved by the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD) letter dated 11 March 2009.
This report has been prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the subsurface investigation of
underground storage tank (UST) sites.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
