These borings were drilled in the
immediate vicinity of the abandoned leach field and were all sampled at
approximately two, seven and twelve feet below ground surface.
On June 6 and 7 we completed one additional boring in the leach field
area. This brings the total number of borings to 13 instead of 16 described
in our last communication. Three of the soil borings have been deleted,
because of their proximity to underground water and power lines. Please
note these locations on the included diagram.
Also on June 6 and 7 we completed soil borings in the area of the old
salt storage facility and the wash rack. During this period, three
monitoring wells to 30 feet were also completed. The fourth 30 foot
monitoring well will be completed as soon as encroachment permits can
be arranged for drilling on the private property of Southern Pacific Rail
Road.
Well 7B on the figure is scheduled to be drilled on June 19 to a depth
of 140 feet. It will be screened from 130 to 140 feet with a 2 foot thick
bentonite plug to seal it from the upper aquifer.
All soil borings and monitoring wells will be sampled at five foot vertical
intervals and taken to a state certified laboratory for eletrical
conductivity and chloride analysis.
The two old production wells on the property are scheduled for cleaning
beginning Tuesday June 13. Because of the uncertainties involved however,
a completion date can not be provided at this time.
1107 KENNEDY PLACE,SUITE 7,DAVIS,CA 95616•(916)756-2250
cur NFFRiMr. r n N R 11 1 TAN TC t P R n i ECT PLANNERS
