The Workplan proposed to
destroy nine groundwater monitoring wells at the former Southwest Hide Facility by the
pressure grouting method. The groundwater monitoring wells are no longer needed to monitor
the effectiveness of corrective actions at the facility and should be destroyed. Staff concurs
with the Workplan and you may complete the work at your earliest convenience. Please note
before implementing this Workplan you must obtain the appropriate well destruction permits
from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department and comply with all well
destruction requirements.
Staff looks forward to working with you to complete the closure of this site and rescinding the
Waste Discharge Requirements.
