INTRODUCTION <br /> I In accordance with the request of Mr Peter Lenz, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has <br /> prepared this Preliminary Site Investigation Report on the recent investigation of the former <br /> underground storage tank (UST) area at 1648 Shaw Road, Stockton, California <br /> IThe scope of work included the advancement of five soil probe borings (probings) within the former <br /> UST area and collection of soil samples for laboratory analysis The location of the site and its <br /> I surroundings are illustrated in Figure 1 - Location Map (USGS 7 5 Minute Topographic Series <br /> Stockton East Quadrangle, Photorevised 1987) The structures and former UST location are shown <br /> on Figure 2 -Site Plan, and a detailed drawing of the former UST location, probe boring locations <br /> Iand lines of cross section are shown on Figure 2A - Detail Site Plan <br /> This report is prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of USI sites <br />� i <br /> 20 BACKGROUND <br /> 2 1 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> I The site is located in a commercial area of low topographic relief in east Stockton, California, at an <br /> approximate elevation of 25 feet above mean sea Ievel The site is bounded on the north and east by <br /> the Stockton Diverting Channel, on the west by State Highway 99 and on the south by Shaw Road <br /> Golden West Irrigation, an agricultural irrigation supply and distributing facility,presently occupies <br /> the property <br /> i <br /> 2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> Two 550-gallon USTs were removed from the site on 03 October 1986 by Stockton Service Station <br /> Equipment Company According to correspondence from the PHS-EHD,both USTs were reportedly <br /> used to store gasoline Upon removal of the USTs, one soil sample was collected from the floor of <br /> the excavation The sample was analyzed by California Water Labs, Inc , a state-certified analytical <br /> Ilaboratory, for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPH-d), benzene, toluene and <br /> . xylene <br />
