08 October 2003
AGE-NC Project No 97-0343
4 0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds
IGround water flow at the site on 19 May 2003 was inferred to be generally toward the
north-northwest at an average gradient of 0 008 feet/feet, which is consistent with the
I historical ground water flow direction at the site Ground water elevations at the site
decreased in wells MW4 through MW7 an average of 0 05 feet since the first quarter 2003
monitoring event
ITPH-g,TPH-d,BTEX and fuel additives were not detected at or above laboratory reporting
limits in the ground water samples collected from wells MW4 through MW7
• The historically fuel-impacted wells MW 1, MW2 and MW3 were not purged or sampled
during the May 2003 monitoring event due to no measurable water in these wells Maps
depicting the approximate distribution of dissolved TPH-g,TPH-d and benzene, interpreted
from this event and previous monitoring events performed in 2002, are presented in Figures
4, 5and 6
• The lateraI extent of the hydrocarbons-impacted ground water has been defined
5 0. RECOMMENDATIONS
I Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends
continued quarterly monitoring of the on-site ground water monitoring wells The next monitoring
event should be performed in August 2003
The AGE-prepared Additional Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan, dated 20 September 2002,
to install a depth-discrete monitoring well, was approved by the EHD by letter dated 26 November
2002 The work is anticipated to be completed during the third quarter 2003
I6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
Ienvironmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the hydrogeologic conditions
at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of available data
points(e g ,ground water samples)and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points
•
IAdvanced GeoEnwronmental,Inc
