Alaniz, John
From: Cory Enos <CoryEnos@SCAFCO.com>
Sent: Friday, April 10, 2020 12:04 PM
To: Alaniz, John
Cc: Alan Lucas
Subject: RE: county Environmental health inspection
Good afternoon John,we are going to have our presses maintenance and it has been postponed twice now due to the
COVID-19 crisis. The oil was going to be disposed with the old oil coming out of our machines. I can schedule safety clean
to pick that up sooner. I am not sure when the maintenance will happen he has canceled at the last minute. Can you
send me some examples of labels so we know what we need. When safet clean picked up they told us that we could not
have two labels on the drum (i.e. ours and theirs). What do we do here?
From:Alaniz,John <jalanizl@sjgov.org>
Sent: Friday, April 10, 2020 11:30 AM
To: Cory Enos<CoryEnos@SCAFCO.com>
Subject: RE: county Environmental health inspection
Hi Cory,
I have reviewed the return to compliance. Here is an update:
Violation 403: Failure to close hazardous waste containers-CLOSED.
Violation 601: Stored hazardous waste on site too long-OPEN. I need the disposal record for the oil as well.
Violation 605: Failed to label hazardous waste containers-OPEN.
A hazardous waste label needs to have
1) The words "Hazardous Waste"
2) The hazardous property (ie-toxic)
3) The physical state (ie-solid)
4) The accumulation start date
5) The name and address of the generator
6) The contents
I did not see the physical state or the hazardous property on the label picture. I just a confirmation statement that the
labels do have those.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank You,
John Alaniz
REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 E Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209)468-3147
Fax: (209) 468-3433
