a
Pacific Bell
Page 2
A quarterly monitoring report should be submitted 30 days
following the sampling event; therefore, submit the next
quarterly report by April 30, 1992 .
Documentation of the disposal of soil cuttings and purge water
was not submitted in the "Site Investigation Report" . Include
the soil and water disposal documentation in the next quarterly .
report; and include the purge water disposal documentation in
each subsequent monitoring report.
The report concluded that the soil contamination, TPH-gasoline
instead of TPH-diesel, observed during the drilling of MW-3 may
have been from an offsite source. Additionally, there were
anomalies reported in the laboratory QA/QC. The lab report
indicated that surrogate recoveries were outside of acceptable
ranges. Surrogate recovery was 234° for TPH-gasoline and 62% for
TPH-diesel. Please evaluate these anomalies and submit
explanations within the next quarterly report.
Please submit an interim workplan for further investigation
necessary to define the boundaries of contamination by
May 15, 1992 . Interim workplans may be submitted with the
quarterly monitoring reports until sufficient data is collected
to prepare a Problem Assessment Report.
If you have any questions, comments, or to schedule a site
inspection for groundwater sampling, please contact Mary Meays, }
RENS, of my staff at (209) 468-0337 .
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
Health Offi er
au ie A.
