PHS/EHD has prepared the following comments for your consideration.
The additional information, requested during the August 28, 1995 meeting with IT representatives and
recently submitted, provided sufficient information to validate and update the environmental fate
modelling included in the previously submitted "Site Closure" report dated April 1995.
PHS/EHD concurs that it is unlikely that groundwater will be impacted by the residual soil
contamination. PHS/EHD has reviewed historical documentation and has prepared a site chronology
and site closure summary necessary for site certification/closure.
PHS/EHD has also requested verbally that a work plan to destroy the three monitoring wells: MW 1 -
MW3 and the two bioventing wells: VWA - VWB. PHS/EHD has been informed that the preparation
of a work plan to destroy these wells has been authorized. Please also submit a PHS/EHD drilling
permit application with the $60 fee. The City of Stockton Community Development Department
should also be notified, since all wells which will be destroyed are located within their easement.
Field work may commence upon issuance of drilling permits and following PHS/EHD notification, at
least two working days prior to initiating the proposed field work.
PHS/EHD looks forward to issuance of site certification. If you have any questions or wish to
schedule a site inspection, please contact Mary Meays at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
_-, ltx
Mary Meays, Senior REHS Diane M.
