t
SUM GLARY
I
Excavation around the product and vapor lines in Early May
1986, indicated a leak likely occurred in a line under the cement
pad at the pump island. Monitoring well installations in early
May 1986, confirmed that an inadvertent release of free product
had occurred and migrated to the groundwater surface approxi-
. _ mately 30 feet below grade. A free product abatement program was
initiated within days of the product discovery. To date in excess
of 430 gallons of free product has been recovered from monitoring
wells 1, 3 and 4 during the bailing and pumping program.
". Installation of additional monitoring wells in conjunction
with a water sampling program of monitoring wells and nearby
domestic wells has provided baseline data to assess the extent
s and magnitude of the contamination at the site. A plume of
dissolved hydrocarbons extends a distance of approximately 300
feet: southwest of the known leak point. No domestic wells appear
to be impacted b the hydrocarbon contamination at
P Y Y present.
Axa
f CLOSURE
We trust this report meets the needs of. the Southland
f '
Corporation at this time.
