Issue E Explain the rationale for applying ethylbenzene and xylene concentrations to modeled areas Response E Table 1, contained in Attachment 1.0 of this report, is a summary of all ' analytical data collected to date at Location 1 (near abandoned USTs in building basement). A total of seven samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylenes (BTEX). Of these seven samples, only three contained detectable xylenes and only one contained detectable ethyl benzene No detectable benzene or toluene concentrations were encountered. As only one concentration of ethyl benzene was encountered, this value was ' used for modeling purposes. Since three detectable xylene concentrations were encountered, the greatest detected concentration was used during modeling.
