Section 25297.1 (b) Chapter 6.7 of the
Health and Safety Code provides PHSIEHD the authority to require an investigation and cleanup of
unauthorized releases. The above referenced site was placed in the PHSIEHD Local Oversight
Program (LOP) in March 1989.
PHSIEHD has completed review of the analytical results recently submitted for work performed by
American Environmental from 1988 to 1990 at the above referenced site. Soil borings and
monitoring wells (MW's) were completed to`assess soil and groundwater conditions at the site. The
soil results indicate toluene and TPH-Gasoline in low concentrations at a number of locations on
site. PHSIEHD file records indicate the three on site MW's installed were never purged and sampled
for petroleum hydrocarbon.
In order to better assess the possible impact of the residual soil petroleum hydrocarbon to
groundwater, the existing on site MW's must be purged and sampled. When groundwater
analytical results become available, they must be submitted to this office for review and comment.
If groundwater has not been impacted, a formal .request for closure following the Tri -Regional Board
Staff Recommendations For Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites
Appendix B can be considered.
If you have any further questions regarding this matter, contact Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS, at (209)
468-3442.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
L
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Margar Lagorio, REHS W
Site Mitigation Unit Lead Senior
HK711SJST
cc CVRWQCB _ . . .
SWRCB Cleanup Fund
E A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
TO PRINT MANUALLY, PRESS THE REPORT/SPACE BUTTON.
