San Joaquin Street, Stockton, CA
We are writing to you to explain why the three wells installed
at the above address have not been tested yet. We understand that
a report on the wells was due August 5, 1990. Please consider this
letter as a request for an extension for the filing of that report.
Community Linen Rental Service, Inc. was the tenant of the
subject property. Community vacated the property in October 1989 .
The property is owned by Mrs. Marian Mohr, Fry. Her last known
address is P.O. Box 97, Mt. Eden, California 94557 .
Mrs. Fry filed a law suit against Community seeking to
recover, among other things, rent during the clean-up period, and
T damages for waste. The filing of this law suit has caused
Community"to review the nature and extent of its responsibility, as
between itself and Mrs. Fry, for tank removal costs and clean-up
costs.
One example of the dispute is the two tanks situated beneath
a metal building constructed by Community at the rear of the
property. Your Department had given permission to fill the tanks
in place, subject to monitoring the ground water. Mrs. Fry wishes
the tanks removed. Removal of the tanks may require removal of the
building. Mrs. Fry has demanded that the building be re-built if
it is removed. The soil tests around these tanks show no contamin-
ation from the tanks.
1
