AMERICAN
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CORP..; %',
Please Refer To:'
AEMC Job No. 80540
23 January 1989 ,
Mr Bill Snavely
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
RE: SOIL SAMPLING AND ANALYSES RESULTS FROM ONE UNDERGROUND
TANK EXCAVATION - FABRICARE.
Dear Mr. Snavely:
American Environmental Management Corporation (AEMC) is pleased to provide you
with the enclosed results of the underground storage tank analyses performed at Fabricare,
711 S. San Joaquin Street, Stockton, California. See Figure 1 for sampling and tank
excavation locations. The excavation consisted of the removal one 10,000-gallon leaded -
gasoline tank. AEMC used the following procedures for collecting samples:
Soil was collected at the desired location and depth per your instruction. A
backhoe shovel was used to collect the soil samples in native soil. The outer six
inches of soil was scraped away. A brass sampling tube was then driven into the
native soil with a rubber mallet and removed full of. soil. The ends were covered
with aluminum foil, capped with plastic caps, and sealed with silver duct toe. The
samples were then labeled, stored on ice at 4 degrees C., logged on a sample
management/chain-of-custody form, and taken to AEMC's EPA certified
laboratory for analyses.
Lab analyses indicate that a significant amount of petroleumhydrocarbon and aromatic
volatile organic contamination has occurred at this site. Therefore, a preliminary report
and Contamination Assessment Workplan is being prepared to better define the problem.
The Contamination Assessment Workplan will be in accordance with Option No. 2 of the
guidelines set forth by the San Joaquin Local Health District addressing soil contamination
problems. If you have any questions regarding this report or the laboratory analyses please
contact me at (916)-364-8872,
S' erely, /
mem s F Fru(mem, R69e24"e-
Regional Manager
Engineering Division
MS/1}r
Enclosure
13fab-01(ms)
cc: Ken Arnipolle, Community Linen Rental Services, Inc.
9719 Lincoln Village Drive,Suite 501,SacrarnetQ CA 95827 1(916)364-8872
