5,0 Conclusions
Work performed during the first quarter of 1997 included the monitoring and sampling of the
' three on-site monitoring wells Since the last monitoring event in December 1996, groundwater
elevations have risen an average of 3 84 feet Groundwater flow was determined to be in a
easterly direction at a gradient of 0 003 foot/foot Two of the three groundwater samples
collected during the quarter contained detectable concentrations of gasoline hydrocarbons The
' groundwater sample collected from MW-2 contained 220,ug/L of TPH-gasoline and the sample
collected from MW-3 contained 260 ,ug/L The analytical results from this quarter represent a
' general decrease in petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations since the last sampling event
' Groundwater surface elevations above the screened interval of the monitonng wells may be
affecting the reliability of the groundwater gradient and flow characteristics and the
representativeness of the groundwater analytical results During the month of June 1997, IT will
return to the site to complete the fifth consecutive quarter of groundwater monitoring and
' sampling
1
4
