i <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The Fabricaie facility is a former industrial laundry The facility is located in the southwest <br /> portion of the City of Stockton, and is bounded by South San Joaquin Street on the east, the <br /> Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad's Stockton station on the south, an automotive parts <br /> storage yard on the west, and Mormon Slough on the north (Figure i - Site Location) The <br /> land use surrounding the facility is a combination of light industrial, commercial and <br /> residential Mormon Slough is the principal surface drainage in the area A California Water <br /> Service Well is located approximately 2,000 feet southwest of the site (Figure 1). No other <br /> domestic or murucipal water wells exist within 5,000 feet of the site Four underground fuel <br /> storage tanks were utilized to store regular leaded gasoline and diesel fuel at the facility The <br /> approximate locations of these tanks are presented on Figure 2 - Piot Plan.
