k" KLEINFELDER
}
i :EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
L A
This is a 1-eport of Kleinfelder's Limited Prelinninary Site Assessment conducted at the Delta Sign
L Facility located at 2.100 San+ouinetti Lane in Stockton. California. Ms. Penny Patti retained
Kleinfelder to conduct the assessment. The assessment was conducted based upon Kleinfelder's
Lproposal titled "Revised Proposal/Worl<plan. Limited Preliminary Site Assessment, Delta Sign
and Crane Service, 2100 Sanguinetti Lane. Stockton', California," dated :lune 16, 1998.
Tour soil borings were advanced at the Dclta,Sign facility in the vicinity of a former underground
storage tank (UST). The fanner UST reportedly was located near the southeast corner of the
main building at the subject site. One soil boring was advanced in the estimated center of the
former UST and three soil borings were advanced.alonc, the perimeter of the former UST in a
northerly to southeasterly direction. During advancement of the soil borings, no unusual odor or
discoloration was noted. Soil samples were collected every five feet from ground surface. Two
LI
soil samples from the bottom of each boring and two additional samples collected from fifteen
foot intervals above the bottom of the boring were submitted for analyses under chain-of-custody
procedures to Sequoia Analytical Laboratory of Sacramento, California. In Borings 1 and 2,
L elevated of-anic vapor readings warranted additional samples to be submitted for analyses.
A total of sixteen soil samples were submitted for analyses from borings Bl through B4,
L collected at depths ranging from 15 to 5D-'/? feet below ground surface (bsg). The soil samples
were analyzed for the following":
}
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as referenced to :Diesel [TPI -D] by EPA .Method 8015M
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as referenced to Gasoline [TPH-G] by EPA Method 8015M
L • Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylenes [13TEX] by EPA Method 8020/5030
• Oxygenates including Methyl 'l'ert-Butyl Ether [MTBE] by EPA Method 8260
LNone of the requested analytes were detected at or above the laboratory reporting limits in the
sixteen soil samples analyzed.
LBased on the results of this assessment. Kleinfelder does not recommend further soil assessment
in the vicinity of the former tuiderground storage tank (UST). Additionally, Kleinfelder
recommends regulatory file closure be oranted by the appropriate agencies with regards to this
L former UST location. A copy of this report should be submitted to the San Joaquin County
Public Health Services Department, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EI-ID) and the State of
LCalifornia. Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for their review
and comment. Finally, Kleinfelder recommends that the drilling derived wastes be dumped on
the surface of the former UST location following PHS/EHD approval to do so.
20-2864-02.L0312019R 0_;2 rage I of 12
0 1998_ Kleinfckler_ lnc.
