24 June 2005
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0290
3.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in the water samples collected from wells MW-2 and MW-4 at a concentrations
of 500 micrograms per liter(µg/1)and 470 gg/l,respectively. BTEX compounds were detected in
the sample from well MW-2 at concentrations of 36µg/1 benzene,no detection of toluene, 7.1 µg/1
ethylbenzene and 2.9 µg/1 xylenes. The fuel additive MTBE was not detected.Analytical results of
the water samples collected at the site are summarized in Tables 3 and 4. The laboratory report
(CTEL Project No. CT214-0412171), chain of custody form and quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC)report are included in Appendix C.
3.3. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL-VAPOR SAMPLES
The carbon-SVE unit operated continually during the observation period. Extraction flow rates
measured at the SVE extraction unit ranged between 30 scfin and 68 scfin, with an induced vacuum
(negative pressure)measurement of up to 26 inches of water in the piping between the SVE blower
and extraction wells (Table 5). Hydrocarbon concentrations detected in soil-vapor samples are as
reported below:
• The soil-vapor sample collected on 27 October 2004 had no detectable concentration of
TPH-g, BTEX compounds nor MTBE.
• The soil-vapor sample collected on 29 October 2004 had no detectable concentration of
TPH-g, and the BTEX compound xylene was detected at 4.2 µg/1 and no MTBE was
detected.
• The soil-vapor sample collected on 23 November 2004 had no detectable concentration of
TPH-g,BTEX compounds nor MTBE.
• The soil-vapor sample collected on 22 December 2004 contained a detectable concentration
of TPH-g at 450 gg/l. BTEX compounds and MTBE were not detected.
• The influent soil-vapor sample collected on 21 January 2005 contained a detectable
concentration of TPH-g at 400 µg/1 and the BTEX compound xylene was detected at 8.5
µg/1. Other BTEX compounds and MTBE were not detected. .
• The soil-vapor sample collected on 17 February 2005 had no detectable concentration of
TPH-g,BTEX compounds nor MTBE.
• The soil-vapor sample collected on 29 March 2005 had no,detectable concentration of
TPH-g,BTEX compounds nor MTBE.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
