PUBLk HEALTH SER ICES oP.... .....
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY Q Z
JOGI KHANNA M.D.,M.P.H.
Health Officer
P.O. Box 2009 . (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) Stockton,California 95201
(209) 468-3400
November 28, 1989
Richard Novone
P.O. Box Q
Woodbridge, CA 95258
RE: 107 N. School St. IN REPLY REFER TO: Site Code 1'371
Lodi, CA
The UGT Pilot. Program staff has reviewed the "Revised Soil
Investigation Proposal" submitted to Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) on November 21, 1989.
Permits have been issued for the proposed shallow soil borings.
However, due to the high levels of contaminants reported in the
soil samples, collected during the tank removal (up to 1300 ppm
total petroleum hydrocarbons) , the high soil permeability, and the
relatively shallow depth to groundwater at this site, a groundwater
investigation will be necessary in order to adequately define the
nature and extent of contamination.
For the above reasons, we will expect a report which incorporates
the findings of the November 28, 1989 investigation and work plan
for a "Preliminary Report" (see enclosed) by January 8, 1990. A
Preliminary Report will be required in order for this office to
evaluate any request for clean-up certification.
If you have any questions, contact Darlene Reuss,- RENS, at
(209) 468-3441.
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , MPH
Health Officer
Ron Valinoti, Director
Environmental Health Division
RV:nr
Enc.
CC: CRWQCB, Gordon Boggs w/o enc.
Mark Newfield w/enc.
Condor Earth Technology: David Meade, Donald Bishop w/enc.
Warren Gomes w/enc.
City of Lodi: Jack Ronsko w/o enc.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services /
