26 October 2004
AGE-NC Project No 97-0290
' The highest concentrations of contaminants were detected near the area of wells MW-2 and
MW-4, which is the location of the former UST and directly down-gradient of the former
USTs However, concentrations of dissolved BTEX and TPH have steadily and significantly
' declined since remediation at the site began The BTEX plume appears to be stable and
declining, with the core of the plume limited to the northernortion of the site
Z
• Concentrations of TPH-g and benzene in well MW-2 have`exhibited decreasing trends over
' the past two years, as depicted in Appendix F
• The overall Influent hydrocarbon vapor concentrations decreased during 2004 to low to non
' detectable level, an estimated 534 lbs gasoline (TPH-g) were removed from the subsurface
of the site
' Continued operation of the IAS with SVE could result in a reduction of the hydrocarbon
impact to soil and ground water
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends
F,O,,,J 0&-%
• "Declining dissolved concentrations in well MW-2 and the continual reduction of significant
vapor concentrations,AGE recommends a thirty-day soil-vapor extraction rebound analysis
However, the general decline in influent vapor concentrations does indicate a reduced
efficiency and should concentrations indicate diminishing effectiveness of the SVE operation
and ground water concentrations decline accordingly over a following ground water
monitoring event, AGE then recommends preparation of a closure report for the site
1
6 0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing In this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the subsurface conditions at
the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from review of a limited number of available
data points (I a soil-vapor and ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away
from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
•
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
