1 <br />' 26 December 7_001 <br />' AGE-NC Project No 97-0290 <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br />' 23 OXYGEN RELEASE COMPOUND DEPLOYMENT <br /> On 19 March 2001, five oxygen release compound (ORC) packages were installed at the site The <br />' ORC was In tube forms within 12-mch sock material Two 12-Inch sock packages of ORC were <br /> placed in wells MW-2, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6 and MW-7 by AGE The ORC was Installed below <br /> the water table at 55 feet below surface grade (bsg) The dissolved oxygen concentration was later <br />' measured <br />' 23 SOIL-VAPOR EXTRACTION <br /> A thermal oxidation SVE system was in operation at the site until 27 February 2001 The system was <br />' removed on that date in preparation for site re-development <br /> On 01 March 2001, the pre-existing SVE well network was routed through a 2 5-horsepower, <br />' regenerative, 100 standard cubic feet per minute (scfm) vacuum blower and through a moisture <br /> knockout vessels (55-gallon drums) for liquid separation and to prevent water collection within <br /> . treatment media The vapor influent line was then routed through two 55-gallon carbon canisters to <br /> adsorb hydrocarbon vapor from the extracted soil-vapor The flow rate of soil-gas-vapor was <br /> measured using a Dwyer pressure flow meter Vacuum(potential)was measured at vapor extraction <br />' wells using a magnehelic vacuum gauge <br /> The organic-vapor concentration in the extracted soil-vapor stream was measured before entenng <br /> I the blower (influent stream) and after exiting the carbon vessels or burner prior to 27 February <br /> (effluent stream) using an organic vapor meter(OVM) equipped with a photo-ionization detector <br /> PID (Thermo Environmental 580A, 10 OeV, calibrated to isobutylene 100 ppb) <br /> Soil-vapor samples were collected on 21 December 2000, 23 January and 21 February 2001 from <br /> the thermal oxidation system Soil-vapor samples were collected on 19 March, 05 April and 16 April <br /> 2001 from the carbon-adsorption system The soil-vapor samples were collected in Tedlar vapor bags <br /> using a vacuum pump attached to the influent and effluent stream The samples were labeled, placed <br /> in a pre-chilled cooler and transported under chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI) <br /> in Pacheco The samples were analyzed for the following <br /> • TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015M and <br /> • BTEX in accordance with EPA Method 8020 <br /> On 16 April 2001,both the SVE and 1AS systems were dismantled and stored on site pending further <br /> operation On 17 April 2001, the SVE and IAS piping network was installed 36 inches below grade <br /> in preparation for additional site development <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
