04/12/2011 11:30 FAX 15106634— GEOMATRIX Q003/006 <br /> Memo <br /> To: Armondo Project: OD11161120.02 <br /> From: Heidi Dietrich <br /> Tel: (510) 663-4133 <br /> Fax: (510) 663-4141 <br /> Date: March 25, 2011 <br /> Subject: Work Plan for Soil and Groundwater Borings <br /> Tracy Railyard Site <br /> Tracy, California <br /> On behalf of Chevron Environmental Management Company, AMEC Geomatrix, Inc. plans to <br /> advance a total of 10 soil borings at 8 locations on the City of Tracy right-of-way: three locations <br /> on the shoulder of Baldwin Court north of Rockingham Way; three locations on the shoulder of <br /> Rockingham Court north of Rockingham Way; and two locations on the shoulder of West 6th <br /> Street at 7th Street in Tracy, California from April 26 to May 6, 2011. Boring locations are shown <br /> on the figure attached. Five of the boring locations (TRYW-2, TRYW-3, TRYW-4, TRYW-5,and <br /> TRYW-7) will be sampled for soil to a depth of 25 feet below ground surface (bgs) using a <br /> Geoprobe direct push rig operated by PeneCore Drilling. Two locations (TRYW-1 and TRYW-8) <br /> will be sampled for groundwater to a depth of 20 feet bgs using a hydropunch-style method with <br /> a Geoprobe direct push rig operated by PeneCore Drilling. The remaining boring location `� <br /> (TRYW-6)will be sampled for groundwater by advancing three borings to 55, 75 and 95 es I <br /> using a CPT direct push rig operated by Gregg Drilling. The borings will be approximate y 3 to 4 ,/ <br /> inches in diameter and will be destroyed by using Portland Type 1/II neat cement grout, acid <br /> from total depth to ground surface using a tremie pipe. The top of the grout column will be <br /> colored to match street surface conditions and will be equal with street surface grade. All soil <br /> cuttings and wash/purge water will be properly stored off-site in 55-gallon drums to be removed <br /> by Chevron. This work will be conducted under permit with the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department. Traffic control including signage will be set up for all work in <br /> City Streets.
