The Workplan was prepared on behalf of Chevron by AMEC Geomatrix, Inc.
(AMEC).
The project is adjacent to the east, generally lateral to and cross-gradient to the Tidewater
Associated Oil Company (TAOC) 6t Street Tracy Rail Yard site, in central Tracy. The Offsite
East Area property consists primarily of single family residences.
As a result of earlier investigations in 2005 associated with the TAOC 6th Street Tracy Rail
Yard (TRY) project, impacted soil and groundwater was identified at/near the eastern
project/property boundary. The lateral extent of impacts was not delineated on the eastern
part of the TRY site. Additional characterization is needed in the adjacent residential
neighborhood. The Workplan proposes drilling four soil borings within the City of Tracy streets
to collect soil and groundwater samples for analysis of the site petroleum hydrocarbon
chemicals of potential concern.
According to AMEC's Workplan:
• Offset boring - East 1 will be drilled in Gonzalez Street, and East 2 will be drilled in
Falcon Court; borings East 3 and East 4 will be drilled in Accipiter Court. Soil and
groundwater samples will be collected for analysis.
• At least two soil samples will be collected from the upper 10 feet and submitted for
analysis for use in preparing a future health risk assessment.
California Environmental Protection Agency
cd Recycled Paper
