amec <br /> Memo <br /> To: Armando Salaiz Project: OD11161130 and OD11161140 <br /> From: Heidi Dietrich-Foronda <br /> Tel: (510) 663-4133 <br /> Fax: (510) 663-4141 <br /> Date: June 5, 2012 <br /> Subject: Encroachment Permit Application for Soil and Groundwater Borings <br /> Tracy Rail Yard <br /> Tracy, California <br /> On behalf of Chevron Environmental Management Company (Chevron), AMEC Environment & <br /> Infrastructure Inc. plans to advance a total of 2 soil borings at 2 locations in the City of Tracy <br /> right-of-way: <br /> • one location in on the shoulder of 1"Street at C Street in front of parcel 23513032 <br /> (South-12); and <br /> • one location on the shoulder of Polk Street at Wagtail Drive on the side of parcel <br /> 23528037 (East-5); <br /> Work is tentatively scheduled to be started on June 19, 2012. Boring locations are shown on the <br /> attached figure. Both boring locations will be advanced to a depth of approximately 25 feet <br /> below ground surface (bgs)for the collection of soil and groundwater samples using a <br /> Geoprobe direct push rig operated by PeneCore Drilling. The borings will be approximately 3 to <br /> 4 inches in diameter and will be destroyed by using Portland Type 1/11 neat cement grout, placed <br /> from total depth to ground surface using a tremie pipe.The top of the grout column will be <br /> colored to match street surface conditions and will be equal with street surface grade. All soil <br /> cuttings and wash/purge water will be properly stored off-site in 55-gallon drums to be removed <br /> by Chevron.
