Inhalation of vapors or <br /> contaminated particulates may occur during soil disturbance activities, sample collection, and <br /> sample preparation. Chemical hazard information is summarized on Table 2, Health Hazard <br /> Information. <br /> 4.4 Level of Protection <br /> For the drilling and sampling activities, personnel working at the site will initially be required to <br /> wear Level D protection. This protection will include the following: <br /> • Coveralls, or work uniform <br /> • steel-toed boots, <br /> • hard hat, <br /> • disposable gloves during sample handling operations, <br /> • eye protection, as necessary, <br /> • hearing protection, as necessary. <br /> Higher or lower levels of protective equipment may be required depending on hazard assessments <br /> and air monitoring readings during field work. The upgrade or downgrade of protective equipment <br /> will be based on the actions levels in section 5.2.1 and will be recorded on the Field Activity Daily <br /> Log form. <br /> 9 <br />
