Antea
Group plans to complete a limited subsurface investigation that will focus on soil testing at potential environmental
concerns(PECs)identified during a recent environmental assessment performed at the site. In addition,Antea Group will
evaluate the presence of any subsurface features that may present PECs that could not be identified through visual
observation alone. The activities at the site will include a site walk, utility clearance and ground-penetrating radar(GPR)
survey, shallow soil boring advancement and soil sampling. Antea Group is performing a GPR survey to identify private
utilities as well as any additional PECs that may be associated with the site such as drains, sumps, and piping. Antea
Group is performing this scope for our client to determine if historical industrial development and activities in this area
have affected shallow soils on this property.
Antea Group anticipates installing up to 23 soil borings on the 908 E Scotts Avenue property to assess potential
contamination at locations identified as PECs. Proposed sampling locations are indicated on the attached site map and
are subject to change. Antea Group will provide oversight and soil sample collection while our licensed subcontractor
uses a hand auger and a direct-push rig(Geoprobe®or equivalent)to bore to depths up to approximately five feet below
ground surface. The anticipated maximum depth at certain boring locations may be increased to 10 feet bgs, depending
on the site features and field observations. Samples will be submitted to a state-certified environmental laboratory to
analyze soil samples for one or more of the following contaminants of concern:
• Volatile organic compounds;
• Semi-volatile organic compounds;
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline,diesel and oils;
• Poly-chlorinated biphenyls;
• CAM 17 metals (antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, lead, mercury,
molybdenum, nickel,selenium,silver,thallium,vanadium, &zinc);and
xInogerf
